Policemen and the conscription.

--A few days since the policemen of Selma, Alabama, were taken by the enrolling officer, and sued out a writ of habeas corpus, which resulted in the discharge of the City Marshal — the head of the force. The privates, however, were remanded back to the enrolling officer.--Governor Watts then certified to all of them as State officers, and they were all exempted.
