Senate bill providing that persons below the rank of major, detailed or assigned as provost marshals or clerks of military courts, shall receive the pay and allowances of captain of cavalry, was passed.
Senate bill to increase, to one hundred and forty-two, the number of midshipman in the navy, was considered and passed.
Senate bill authorizing the Secretary of the Navy
to employ six assistant instructors for the acting midshipmen
in the navy, was passed.
Senate bill appropriating six thousand dollars for the erection of additional buildings at Drewry's Bluff
, for the accommodation of acting midshipmen, was passed.
