Highway robbery.

--On Thursday evening last, between six and seven o'clock, Mr. Lucian Thomas was assaulted, while on his way home, on the Brook turnpike, by a party of negroes, and knocked out of his buggy. The thieves robbed him of some sixty or seventy dollars in United States funds, and some two thousand dollars in Confederate bonds. They also took his hat, and were about to take off his coat, when they were frightened off by the approach of Mr. John B. Young, near whose residence the outrage occurred. Mr. Thomas was picked up and taken to the house of a citizen in the neighborhood, where the proper medical attendance was rendered, and he soon restored to his senses.
