2385. Some temporal conjunctions also denote cause:

ὅτε, ὁπότε, ἐπεί, εὖτε (poet.), ἐπειδή since, whereas, ὡς because. ὡς means also as, as to, rarely, in prose, in order that. ἕως in Homer has in part become a final conjunction (2419); for the Attic use, see 2420.
