Fabius . .] s. 44.45.3. quanta . . festinatio] steht mit dem folgenden Satz nur in loser Verbindung, da nicht mit tanta oder einer ähnlichen Wendung fortgefahren wird, sondern ohne Korresponsion sogleich celeriter angeknüpft ist; gewöhnlich heifst es blofs quanta maxima festinatione (celeritate) oder quanta maxima festinatione (celeritate) potuit; an u. St. wird in celeriter (‘in kurzer Zeit’) der Erfolg der angewendeten raschen Bewegung bezeichnet, durch die man bald das Ziel zu erreichen beabsichtigt (festinatio). Ähnliche Zusammenstellungen s. Cic. Phil. 3, 2: mea . . festinatio non victoriae solum avida est sed etiam celeritatis; Curt. 7, 2, 15: velocitate opus est, qua celeritatem famae antecedas u. a.; vgl.
