lure sb.: apparatus used by falconers to recall their hawks, ‘being made of feathers and leather in such wise that in the motion it looks not vnlike a fowle’ (Latham, 1615) Shr. IV. i. 195 “she never looks upon her ,” Ven. 1027 “As falcon to the lure.”
