2) in a state of being sensible, of having feeling: “who s. outdares his senseless sword,” Cor. I, 4, 53. “he is your brother, lords, s. fed of that self blood that first gave life to you,” Tit. IV, 2, 122 (== as a sensible creature, endowed with the same feeling as you).
