proto type A cup

Stemmed cup with a deep lipless bowl, almost hemispherical in shape.

Shape: Spreading foot and low, broad stem like a Droop cup, but with a wide fillet at the junction of the stem and the bowl. The bowl returns to the form of the Merrythought cup.

History: Among the painters of the Proto A cups, Lydos is one artist of note, although credited with only three cups of this shape.
