Town in Aiolis, 6 km N of Menemen. It may be the site of Neonteichos, which was founded, according to Strabo (621), by Greek immigrants as a base for their attack on Larisa, 30 stades away. The town is also mentioned by Pliny (HN 5.121) and in an anonymous Vita Homeri. It never issued any coinage.

The site at Yanik Köy has produced no identifying evidence and has never been excavated; its identity depends upon that of Larisa at Buruncuk. The only remains are a number of pieces of terrace wall and a longer stretch of city wall, all of polygonal masonry, and a paved road leading up from the present village. Sherds are mostly of the 4th and 3d c. B.C.
