FORUM LIVI
(Forli) Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
A Roman municipium 64 km SE of Bologna on the
Via Aemilia between the Ronco and the Montone rivers.
Its origin may be connected with the laying of the road,
which provides the orientation for the centurial network
of the territory. It became a diocesan seat rather early.
The archaeological finds are of no assistance in the
reconstruction of the city's urban plan. It seems to have
been irregular, probably because the area was crossed by
streams at times of high water. Perhaps there were public buildings along the winding course of the Via Aemilia.
Outside, to the W, were the workshops of potters.
