GANNAT Allier, France.

The city, whose ancient name is unknown, is in a small basin ringed with hills. Two streams run through it. Traces of dwellings have been found, but also near the St. Etienne church the remains of a large building that has marble veneers and a remarkable stele 1.45 m high and 1.68 m wide. It has a niche containing a figure with a mallet in his left hand and a goblet (?) in his right; at his feet is a little barrel. A stele of Epona was found on the same spot.

A pottery that turned out molded bowls with a lead glaze, fine ware, and statuettes (?) has been excavated, and some clay architectural fragments have also been found.
