CHARLIEU Loire, France.

A Gallo-Roman site of the 1st c. in the Sornin valley (flanged tiles, pottery, coins of Tiberius). In 870 the priory church of the abbey of Charlieu was built over an earlier church, with a crypt containing an inscribed sarcophagus.
