225. Genitive singular.—The form in -ου is borrowed from the genitive singular of the second declension. A few words in -α_ς, generally names of persons not Greeks, have -α_, the Doric genitive (214 D. 5): Ἀννίβα_ς Hannibal, gen. Ἀννίβα_.
