ἐπεξέρχει και ἐπαπειλῶν ὧδε θρασύς; Dost thou go the length of e'en threatening so boldly? The participial clause defines the manner of “ἐπεξέρχει”, and so is practically equiv. to “ὥστε καὶ ἐπαπειλεῖν” etc. The καί here belongs to the partic. (distinguish the composite “ καί” in question, O. T. 368). Eur. Bacch. 1346ἀλλ᾽ ἐπεξέρχει λίαν”, (we have erred,) but thou goest too far (in vengeance). Cp. O. C. 438τὸν θυμὸν ἐκδραμόντα μοι μείζω κολαστήν”.
