ἔχεις δέ = κατέχεις δέ. Since in “ἔχεις μέν...ἔχεις δέ” the rhetorical effect depends simply on the repetition (“ἐπαναφορά”), the change of sense is immaterial. —τῶν κάτωθεν θεῶν, possess. gen. with νέκυν, a corpse belonging to them. For “κάτωθεν ῀ κάτω”, 521 n. ἄμοιρον, without its due “μοῖρα” of burial rites: Ai. 13-7 “νεκρὸν ταφῆς ι ἄμοιρον”. Others take “τῶν” “κ. θεῶν” with “ἄμοιρον”: ‘without a portion in the gods below,’ i.e., not admitted to communion with them. But the phrase is a strange one; and the leading thought here is that the “νέρτεροι” are robbed of one who belongs to them. ἀκτέριστον (1207), without offerings at the grave, “κτερίσματα” (O. C. 1410): cp. 204. ἀνόσιον, ‘unhallowed,’ sums up the state of the dead who has received no rites: cp. 545 n. Cp. Shaksp. Haml. 1. 5. 77 “‘Unhousel'd, disappointed, unanel'd’” [without sacrament—unprepared for death—without extreme unction].
