τίμιος, sc.ἦν”: cp. 834. Hermann's “καίτοι καί” is preferable to Wieseler's “καίτοι γ᾽ ἦν”, because the doubled “καί” is forcible, while “καὶ Ζηνός” (without a previous “καί”) would be somewhat weak.
