The order of words in the MSS., “ἐπεὶ πατὴρ οὗτος σός”, is probably right; the words would then fall from her with a certain deliberate bitterness. Cp. 542: Ant. 44 γὰρ νοεῖς θάπτειν σθ̓” (n.): Ph. 101λέγω σ᾽ ἐγὼ δόλῳ Φιλοκτήτην λαβεῖν”.
