ὑπηρέτης, like “ὑπηρετεῖν” in 15, said of a friend and equal. Cp. Soph. El. 821(Orestes) “Πυλάδην μὲν εἵλετ᾽ ἐν πόνοις ὑπηρέτην”, | “δμῶας δ᾽ ἀπωθεῖ”: and so even in good prose, as Xen. An. 1. 9. 18.
