χλωρὰν … ἄχναν, a fresh, delicate dew; the tears fall in pearly drops. Eur. Med.906“ἀπ᾽ ὄσσων χλωρὸν ὡρμήθη δάκρυ”. Pind. N.8. 40“χλωραῖς ἐέρσαις”. τέγγει … ἄχναν: cp. Ai.376“ἐρεμνὸν αἷμ᾽ ἔδευσα”: I. T. 159 “χοὰς” | ...“ὑδραίνειν”: Pind. N.10. 75“θερμὰ δὴ τέγγων δάκρυα”. 850 f. The μοῖρα is still ἐρχομένα, since Heracles is not yet dead. The ἄταν is his death, δολίαν, as wrought by the guile of Nessus. προφαίνει, ‘foreshows,’—enables us to forebode.—Hermann understood, ‘reveals the secre<*> villainy (of Nessus).’
