VICUS VENERIS ALMAE

a street in Region XII (CIL vi. 975), the inhabitants of which are probably the Venerenses of a fourth century inscription (CIL vi. 31901; BC 1891, 357). This cult of Venus may possibly be connected with that in the circus Maximus valley (cf. AD MURCIAE).
