The ταρσοί mentioned here are the same as the πλεκτοὶ τάλαροι inf. 247. The Schol. says rightly “ταρσοὶ δὲ λέγονται παρὰ τὸ τέρσαι, ὅ ἐστι ξηρᾶναι”. In Eur. Cycl.208 they are called “σχοίνινα τεύχη”.τυρῶν βρῖθον, ‘were loaded with cheeses.’ The same construction occurs in Od.15. 334, but the verb is used with the dative in Od.6. 159; 16.474; 19.112; Il.18. 561. στείνοντο is found with the dative inf. 445 and Il.21. 220.
