[584] ὁμαρτ́ηδην, so apparently Ar. (or “ἁμαρτήδην”? Lehrs Ar. p. 301); MSS. “ὁμαρτήτην” or “ἁμαρτήτην”, a genuine old form (H. G. § 19) against which there is nothing to be said, except that in similar passages τὼ δέ is commonly without a verb, being followed by “ μὲν . . δέ” in distributive apposition (7.306, etc.); the asyndeton after “ὁμαρτήτην”, though harsh, might be regarded as ‘explicative.’ The adverbial form does not recur.
