Ἑκάλειος Ζεύς [α^], from Ἑκάλη, a lady who entertained Theseus, and for this received at Athens the yearly honour of the Ἑκαλήσια [ἱερά]: hence the epith. was given to Zeus as worshipped on the same day, Plu.Thes.14.
