A.Amphictyons, deputies of states associated in an ἀμφικτυονία, e.g. at Onchestos, Str.9.2.33; Calauria, 8.6.14; Delos, Ath.6.234e; esp. at Delphi, D.5.14,al., Aeschin.2.115, etc.; “ἈμφικτίονεςIG2.545.16,al., and this form seems to preserve the etym., v. foreg.: sg. in Lib.Decl.17.10,al. -εύω, to be a member of the Amphictyonic Council, IG7.106 (Megara), SIG58 (Delos):— Pass., to be subject to the Amphictyony, Gött.Gel.Anz.1913.175. -ία or Ἀμφικτυον-εία , , Amphictyonic League, D.5.19,11.4, cf. Did.in D.4.6; “τὸ δίκαιον τῆς .IG4.589 (Argos); of the League of Calauria, Str.8.6.14:—τῆς τῶν Λοκρῶν . τὸ τρίτον μέρος a third share in the representation of Locri in the Amphictyony, Klio 16.163.
