P.6.23 :—also Πηλεΐων , ωνος, , Il.16.195, etc. (also as name of a frog, with play on πηλός, Batr.206); Πηλεΐωνάδε to Peleus' son, Il. 24.338. (Popularly derived from πηλός (which however has α_ in Dor.): hence prov. μὴ δεῖν τὸν Οἰνέα Πηλέα ποιεῖν don't make wine into lees, Ath.9.383c, cf. Demetr.Eloc.171.)
