A.his temple, Th.6.54 (citing Πυθίου ἐν τεμένει from IG12.761), IG22.17.10, prob. in Pl.Grg.472b; also οἱ Πύθιοι, αἱ Πύθιαι, the gods and goddesses worshipped at Pytho or Delphi, Ar.Th. 332, cf. IG14.2436 (Massilia).
II. οἱ Πύθιοι, at Sparta, four persons whose office it was to consult the Delphic oracle on affairs of state, Hdt.6.57, X.Lac.15.5, etc.; cf. Πυθία, Πύθια, Πύθιον.
