II. Hom. has only neut. as Adv., ἄγχιστον nearest, Od.5.280; more commonly pl., ἄγχιστα ἐῴκει was most nearly like , Il.2.58, 14.474; “. ἐοικώςOd.13.80; “. ἐΐσκω6.152, cf. Pi.I.2.10: freq. c. gen., Διὸς . next to Zeus, A.Supp. 1035 (lyr.); “. τοῦ βωμοῦHdt.9.81; “. οἰκεῖν τινοςId.1.134, al., cf.
