ἄσσα , Ion. for ἅτινα, neut. pl. of ὅστις, Il.10.208, al., Hdt.1.47, al.; Att. ἅττα Pl.Com.49, etc.
II. ἄσσα , Ion. for τινά, Att. ἄττα , something, some, Hom. only once, “ὁπποῖ᾽ ἄσσαwhat sort, Od.19.218; “πόσ᾽ ἄττα;Ar.Ra.173; δείν᾽ . ib.925; “οἷ᾽ ἄττα βαΰζειCratin. 6, etc.: with numerals, δύ᾽ ἄττα ὀνόματα, τρία ἄττα γένη, Pl.Sph.255c, Ly.216d: added to a temporal Conj., “πηνίκ᾽ ἄττα . . ;Ar.Av.1514, etc. (ἄσσα ἄττα) arises from false division of groups like ὁποῖά σσα where σσα = τι-α, neut. pl. of τις, cf. Megarian σά.
