2. affect ignorance, dissemble, “οἶσθα, ἀλλ᾽ ἀκκίζειPl.Grg.497a, Cic.Att.2.19.5, Luc Merc. Cond.14, Jul.Or.7.223b; τὰ κοινὰ ταυτὶ ἀκκιοῦμαι I will dissemble and talk commonplaces, Men. l.c.
3. esp. of women, to be prudish, affect to be shocked, Philippid.5, cf. Ael. l.c., Alciphr.1.39.
