ἀλύω , Att. ἁλύω acc. to Suid., cf. Eust.1636.28, Aeol. ἀλυίω EM 254.16; only pres. and impf.; Poet. (rare in Com.) and late Prose:—

6. from joy or exultation (rarely), to be beside oneself, Od.18.333, A.Th.391, cf. Jac.APp.760.
