ἀμφιγνοέω : impf.
A.ἠμφεγνόουνPl.Sph.236c, X.An.2.5.33: aor. “ἠμφεγνόησαPl.Plt.291b, Sph.228e (ἀμφαγνοέω v. l. in X.An. l.c., and Procop.Goth.2.16):—to be doubtful or mistaken about a thing, τι Pl. Sph.228e; “περί τινοςIsoc.2.28; ἐπί τινος πότερον . . Pl.Grg.466c; ὑπέρ τινος Procop.l.c.; ἠμφεγνόουν τι ἐποίουν they knew not what they were about, X.An.l.c.; οὐκ ἀμφιγνοῶ σε γεγονότα συστρατιώτην I am not mistaken in thinking . . , Plu.Pomp.79:—Pass., “ἀμφιγνοηθείςunrecognized, X.HG6.5.26; but ἀμφιγνοούμενόν ἐστι is in dispute, Air.Tact.6.2, cf. Plot.4.4.12.
