A.dim, faint, obscure:
1. of impressions on the eye, . χοιράς a rock dimly seen through water, Archil.129; . γράμματα scarce legible letters, Th.6.54; . φέγγος, χρῶμα, Arist.Mete.343b13, 372a2; . τὰ εἴδη τῶν ἰχθύων, σκιὰς μᾶλλον ἰχθῦς εἰκάσεις (in a painting) Paus.10.28.1. Adv. ἀμυδσῶς, βλέπειν, ὁρᾶν, Arist.HA537b11, 556b19; . μιμεῖσθαί τι represent its form obscurely, ib.502b9; . ἔχειν to be ill-defined, PA 668a3.
