ἀνάλογος , ον,
A.according to a due λόγος, proportionate, conformable, Pl.Ti.69b, cf. Ti.Locr.103d; but “ἐὰν τέσσαρα ἀνάλογα in arithmetical progression, Ascl.Tact.3.1: neut. ἀνάλογον freq. in Arist. in adverbial sense, in proportion, EN1158a35, etc.; freq. as Adj., τὸ ἀνάλογον λέγω, ὅταν . . Po.1457b16; “παρὰ τὸ .EN1131b11, al., etc.; but “ἐκ τοῦ ἀνάλογονRh.1399a33, 1405a11, al.; μεταφοραὶ αἱ ἀνάλογον (sc. οὖσαι) ib.1408a8; “τὰ τούτοις ἀνάλογονHA487a5, etc.; . οἰκοδόμοι (as a predicate) EN1103b9, cf. Rh.1364b11, al.:—so that it is plain that ἀνάλογον is merely equiv. to ἀνὰ λόγον, as it is written in Pl.Ti.37a; cf. λόγος:—the regul. Adv. “ἀναλόγωςHp.Ep.27, LXX Wi.13.5, S.E.P.1.88, Alex.Aphr.in Metaph.156.5.
