ἀναγρα?́φ-ω , contr. ἀγγράφω IG7.8, Tab.Heracl.1.126: (v. γράφω):—
2. of a person, register or record his name, “στηλίτην . τινάIsoc.16.9:—Pass., to be inscribed or ntered in a public register,ἀναγραφῆναι πατρόθενHdt.6.14, cf. 8.90; ἀναγράφεσθαι εὐεργέτης to be registered as a benefactor, as was the custom of the Persians, 8.85, cf. Th.1.129: hence generally, “μέγιστος εὐεργέτης παρ᾽ ἐμοὶ ἀναγεγράψῃPl.Grg.506c, cf. Lys.20.19, X.Vect.3.11: also, to be registered as a state-debtor, Lys.9.7:—generally, “Ἄρθμιον . . ἐχθρὸν αὑτῶν ἀνέγραψανD.9.43; “ἐν τοῖς φίλοισ-γεγράφθαιD.C.38.44; Εὐβούλου κούρα ἀνεγραφόμαν became his adopted daughter, Epigr.Gr.205 (Halicarn.):—Med., “τὴν εὐεργεσίαν ἀνεγραψάμην εἰς ἐμαυτόνCorp.Herm. 1.30.
3. c. acc. rei, . στήλην set up a pillar with an inscription on it, Lys.30.21.
b. Pass., to be registered, of a deed, PRyl.65.4 (i B. C.).

3. describe lines and figures mathematically, . ἀπό . . upon a base, Pl.Men.83b (Med.), cf. Euc. 1.47, etc.; “. τὰς τῆς γῆς περιόδουςArist.Mete.350a17; also of lines used as bases, “αἱ ἴσα αὐτοῖς τετράγωνα -ουσαιEuc.10Def.4:—Pass., τὸ τετράγωνον τὸ ἀναγραφησόμενον ἀπό . . that can be described upon . . , Id.2.14.
4. reduce to a formula or prescription,δυνάμιες ἀναγεγραμμέναιHp.Decent.9.
