ἀναίνομαι , impf. ἠναινόμην, Ep. ἀναινόμην, late also
A.ἀνηνόμηνAgath.1.13: aor. “ἀνηνάμηνAlciphr.3.37, subj. ἀνήνηται, inf. ἀνήνασθαι:
1. c. acc., refuse or reject with contempt, spurn,σὲ δ᾽ ἀναίνεται ἠδὲ σὰ δῶραIl.9.679; ὃς δέ κ᾽ ἀνήνηται [σφέας] ib.510; τῶν ἄλλων οὔτινα ἀναίνομαι on no one of the rest do I turn my back, Od. 8.212; and without a notion of contempt, πρὶν μὲν ἀναίνετο ἔργον ἀεικές refused, declined to do it, ib.3.265; χαλεπόν κεν ἀνήνασθαι δόσιν εἴη 'twould be hard to refuse a gift, ib.4.651; “ὡς μηδὲν ἀναίνοιντο ἔργονX.Cyr.2.1.31.
