2. metaph., accomplish what is destined, as always in Hom., πότμον ἀναπλήσαντες having filled up the full measure of their fate, Il.11.263; “αἴ κε θάνῃς καὶ μοῖραν ἀναπλήσῃς βιότοιο4.170; ἀναπλῆσαι οἶτον, κακά, ἄλγεα, κήδεα, ib.8.465, 15.132, Od.5.302, 13.307 (v.l.), cf. Hdt.5.4, 6.12, 9.87, etc.
2. freq. with a notion of defiling, infecting,ὡς πλείστους ἀναπλῆσαι αἰτιῶνPl.Ap.32c:— so in Pass., to be infected with disease, Th.2.51; “. τῆς τούτου [τοῦ σώματος] φύσεωςPl.Phd.67a, cf. Iamb.Myst.5.15.
