ἀνευφημέω ,
A.shout εὐφήμει or εὐφημεῖτε: hence, as this was mainly done on sorrowful occasions, cry aloud, shriek, ἅπας δ᾽ ἀνηυφήμησεν (so Brunck for ἀνευφώνησεν)“ οἰμωγῇ λεώςS.Tr.783, cf. E.Or.1335, Pl.Phd.60a.
2. proclaim, c. acc. et inf., Alex.Aphr. in Metaph. 767.30, cf. Simp.in Ph.1360.20: c. dupl. acc., Dam.Pr.58.
II. later, receive or honour with auspicious cries,τινὰ ὡς εὐεργέτηνJ.BJ 4.2.5, cf. 2.21.4, Hdn.6.4.1.
