[τέττιγας] φθόνου ἐς δένδρα remove them out of envy's way, dub. in Philostr.VA7.11 (leg. ἀπ-):—Pass. and Med., shift one's dwelling up the country, migrate inland or to higher ground, “αὐτοὶ δ᾽ ἀνῳκίσανθ᾽ ὅπως ἀνωτάτω” Ar.Pax207, cf. Av. 1351, Str.9.2.17, App.Pun.84; and of cities, to be built inland or away from the coast, Th.1.7:—generally, migrate, “ἀνοικίσασθαι εἰς Ὄλυνθον” Id.1.58, cf. 8.31.
