A.remove up the country, . τὴν Σπάρτην, i.e. break it up as a city, Arist.Rh.Al.1423a7; “. τινὰς ἐς τὴν ΠερσίδαPaus.1.25.5, cf. Str.13.3.3; . [τέττιγας] φθόνου ἐς δένδρα remove them out of envy's way, dub. in Philostr.VA7.11 (leg. ἀπ-):—Pass. and Med., shift one's dwelling up the country, migrate inland or to higher ground,αὐτοὶ δ᾽ ἀνῳκίσανθ᾽ ὅπως ἀνωτάτωAr.Pax207, cf. Av. 1351, Str.9.2.17, App.Pun.84; and of cities, to be built inland or away from the coast, Th.1.7:—generally, migrate,ἀνοικίσασθαι εἰς ὌλυνθονId.1.58, cf. 8.31.
