2. refine metal by smelting, Str.9.1.23; “ῥητίνη ἀποκεκαθαρμένηpurified, Dsc.1.25: metaph., ἀποκεκαθάρθαι τὴν φωνήν to be pure in dialect, Luc.Hist. Conscr.21.
