ἀποθερίζω , poet. aor. ἀπέθρι^σα (also in late Prose, Porph.Abst.2.10):—

Hel.1188, AP6.107 (Phil.), etc.; “καυλόνDsc.3.70; of persons, “μνηστῆραςNonn.D.48.96; regul. form -θέρισα in Ael.NA1.5, Apollod.1.9.22; “ἀπεθέρισα τοὺς προφήτας σουLXXHo.6.6(5):—Med., aor. “ἀπεθρισάμηνAP5.236 (Agath.); ἀποθρίξασθαι, of the tonsure of monks, Procop.Arc.1, al., perhaps from a mistaken etymology, cf. “ἀποθρίξαντες τὴν χαίτηνAel. ap. Ar.Byz.Epit.149.13.
