ἀποχέω , imper.
A.“ἀπόχει” Dsc.1.53: aor. ἀπέχεα, Ep. -έχευα:— pour out or off, spill, shed, “ἀπὸ δ᾽ εἴδατα χεῦεν ἔραζε” Od.22.20,85: poet. pres. Med., “παγὰν ἃν ἀποχεύονται Κασταλίας δῖναι” E.Ion148 (lyr.).
2. pour off, Hp.Ulc.12; “τι εἴς τι” Dsc.1.53.
II. Pass., to be poured off, Plb.34.9.10; “τοῦ μὲν ἀποχεομένου ὕδατος, τοῦ δὲ ἐπιχεομένου” Dsc.2.76; to be shed, fall off, “ἀποχυθέντα φύλλα” Plu.2.332b.
2. of plants, come into ear, Thphr.HP8.8.1, etc.; οὐκ εἰς στάχυν ἀλλ᾽ οἷον φόβην ib.4.4.10:—Med., make to shoot, “ἀ.ποίην” Nic. Th.569(s.v.l.); χαίτην ib.658.
