ἀργής , ῆτος, ὁ, ἡ, Ep. dat. and acc. ἀργέτι, ἀργέτα (v. infr.), gen.
A.“ἀργέος” Nic.Al.305, and v.l. Th.856:—bright, glancing, mostly of vivid lightning, “κεραυνός” Il.8.133, Od.5.128, al., Ar.Av.1747; opp. ψολόεις κεραυνός, Arist.Mete.371a20; Ζεὺς ἀργής, i.e. fire, Emp.6.2; “ἀργέτι αὐγῇ” Id.21.4; “φύσις” Orph.H.10.10.
2. shining, white, of fat, “ἀργέτι δημῷ” Il.11.818; “ἀργέτα δημόν” 21.127; of a robe, “ἑανῷ ἀργῆτι φαεινῷ” 3.419; “ἀργῆτι μαλλῷ” A.Eu.45, cf.
