2. c. gen., serviceable, useful towards a thing, “ἀρωγὰ τῆς δίκης ὁρκώματαA.Eu.486; γένος ναΐας ἀρωγὸν τέχνας serviceable in sea-craft, S.Aj. 357; δίψους . against thirst, Antiph.150; “πόνωνLuc.Trag.54: with Preps., “ἐπὶ ψευδέσσιIl.4.235; “πρός τιTh.7.62: and c. dat., “ῥίζας ἐχίεσσιν .serviceable against, Nic.
