Call.Dian.56 sq.; “κέκλετ᾽ ἀΰσαςIl.4.508, cf. 6.66, etc.; “μακρὸν ἄϋσε5.101; “ἤϋσε . . μέγα τε δεινόν τε ὄρθια11.10; ἤϋσεν δὲ διαπρύσιον ib.275, etc.:—also in Trag., “αὔειν λακάζεινA.Th.186; “μηδὲν μέγ᾽ ἀΰσῃςS.El.830 (lyr.); “δεινὸν δ᾽ ἀΰσαςOT1260: c. acc. cogn., utter,στεναγμὸν . . ἀΰσατ᾽E. Supp.800 (lyr.); τίν᾽ αὐδὰν ἀΰσω; Id.Ion1446.
