A.divide:—Act. is not found in this sense (for aor. ἔδαισα v. δαίνυμι）, δαΐζω being used:—Pass., δαίεται ἦτορ my heart is torn, distracted, Od.1.48: Ep. 3pl. pf., Αἰθίοπας, τοὶ διχθὰ δεδαίαται ib.23: —more freq. in Med., distribute, “κρέα δαίετο” 15.140; “κρέα πολλὰ δαιόμενος” 17.332; “πήματα . . δαίονται βροτοῖς ἀθάνατοι” Pi.P.3.81; cf. δατέομαι.
