2. intr., admit air,ἀπόφραξον ἅπαντα ὡς μὴ διαπνέεινHeroSpir.2.21.
II. breathe between times, get breath, Plb.27.9.10, Plu.Cim.12, Ph.1.90,al.; “ἐκ δυσχερείαςPlb.31.4.1.
III. intr., disperse in vapour, evaporate, Arist.Resp.479a17, PA671a20, cf. Ph. 2.42: so,
2. Medic., dissipate by exhalation, Aret.SA1.7:—Pass., Gal.15.377 (also intr. in pass. sense, “διέπνευσε τὸ ἄλγοςAret.CA1.10).
3. Pass., of plants, exhale,διαπνεῖται καὶ ἐξατμίζεταιThphr.CP1.1.3, cf. M.Ant.6.16; of human beings, perspire, Id.3.1, Gal.15.377:—so Med., Hp.Alim.28.
