II. of things which affect the eyes or taste, keen, pungent, acrid, of smoke, “δριμύτατος καπνῶν” Ar.V.146; of radish, etc., opp. γλυκύς, X.Mem.1.4.5, cf. Pl.Com.154 (Sup.); “χυμός” Arist.de An.422b13; ὀσμαί ib.421a30; “δριμέσιν ἰητρεύειν” with pungent drugs, Hp.Fract.27; “δ. οἶνος” Luc.Merc.Cond.18.
