ἑα_νός , ή, όν, Ep. Adj. (never in Od.):—
A.fine, of fabrics and materials for wearing, ἑα_νῷ λιτί with fine linen, Il.18.352, 23.254; “πέπλος ἑα_νός5.734, 8.385; ἑα_νοῦ κασσιτέροιο tin beaten out fine, 18.613; “ἱμάτιονSapph.(?)122.
2. sail, “λῦε ἑα^νοῦ πτέρυγαςLyr.Alex.Adesp.20.9. [Hom. always makes α_ in the Adj., α^ in the Subst.; but later poets use α_ or α^, as suits the metre, as Orph.A.877, 1223.] (Cf. ἕννυμι (q.v.); the Subst. has the digamma, Il.14.178, 21.507, whereas the Adj. has not, 18.352, 613, 23.254.)
