II. more freq. intr. in aor. 2 ἐξήρι^πον, inf. ἐξερι^πεῖν:—fall to earth,ὡς δ᾽ ὅθ᾽ ὑπὸ ῥιπῆς πατρὸς Διὸς ἐξερίπῃ δρῦςIl.14.414; χαίτη ζεύγλης ἐξεριποῦσα the mane streaming downwards from the yoke-cushion, 17.440; [κάπροι] αὐχένας ἐξεριπόντες letting their necks fall on the ground, Hes.Sc. 174; fall down, Id.Th.704.—Mostly Ep., but ἐξήριπε τὸ κάτηγμα where the fractured part projects, Hp.Off.12.
