3. get rid of, dispose of the claims of a person, Sammelb.5246.14(i B.C.), etc.
B. intr. in Pass. and Med., with aor. 2, pf., and plpf. Act.:
1. of Place, arise out of, become separated,ἐξ . . ἵστατο ΝεῖκοςEmp.36, cf. 35.10; stand aside from, ἐκστάντες τῆς ὁδοῦ out of the way, Hdt.3.76; “ἐκ τοῦ μέσουX.An.1.5.14; θάκων καὶ ὁδῶν .
